Bought an iPhone despite my better judgement

Comments

I took mine out while waiting for an advanced screening of Transformers Tuesday night. Bad idea. I didn't get jumped, but nearly a dozen teens standing in line behind us saw it (even though I was trying to be discreet) and had to have a look at it. They took pictures - pictures! - of it in my hand before we all went in to sit down for the show.
Scary, isn't it? ;^)

How was the movie?
My honest opinion about the Iphone is that it was really out before it was ready. I think tons of people got suckered into paying to be a beta tester. Come on...a full year for an SDK? This security cool aid that Apple kept on putting on was a load of huey. Are Blackberrys and Treos not secure? I've owned them and have never had an issue. I say this as a dominant OS X user. So don't throw over that Windows fan boy tag. LOL.
I rarely resort to name calling Chris. ;^)

I honestly think the iPhone is a game changer and a terrific device if you understood what you were buying. It;s an Apple 1.0 device. Anyone who's been through this drill before (I have countless times) knows that there's a significant chance that you'll have a better experience with the second generation. I ultimately chose not to wait and don't regret it a bit.

I really don't miss my Treo except for a few features like copy-and-paste, using the device as a modem, and a few other minor things. I've never been a huge fan of the Blackberry - it's a fine device if you need push e-mail but it simply doesn’t stack up to a Treo, much less an iPhone as a media and entertainment device. As an Internet device, it's pretty much on a par with Treos and WM devices these days.

All my opinions of course - YMMV.
My main point was that Apple knew where they wanted to go with this product line and like any good company--decided to roll things out gradually. Milk it for all it's worth.
